Mexico is on the verge of civil war
this time the enemy being the drug cartels
and Americans are funding them
with their purchases of illegal drugs
We just might as well being shipping the druglords the guns and ammunition directly

Mexico is not Columbia and the situations are not as parallel as you might think.
In any case, nothing is going to change on the border. The two big winners from illegal immigration and trafficking are: 1) the Mexican government; and 2). US business (which also means the US government). Why would they cut their own financial throats?
The government has had every opportunity to do something about the border—if it wanted to. Politicians only use the issue as a means to get votes; and then they ignore it between election cycles.

The Drug Wars has reached its peak, in Mexico. Unless, the US actually assists, the Mexican goverment can take care of its internal drug strife.
They are not shy, look at their histroy of enforcement, it came to a stop in the early 90’s due to the fact USC were apprehended aiding and abetting the cartel and crying to Human Rights for the interrogating techniques(similar to the US on Terror.)
Curb the demand here, control the illegal weapons sale here and they can curb drug export there.

because our government WANTS the war on drugs to hit our border and seep into our nation….it will justify the extreme actions they’ll undertake….but it wont do anything to stem the flow of drugs.
Face it, over the last 30 years it is more than apparent that our government doesn’t address issues, they put band-aids on broken bones…but only after the bone breaks the skin.
